Just Get Started On Life
This is my submission to my first game jam, the Shovel Jam 25.
Following the prompt of the game jam "Just get started", I turned it into a "Just get started on life". A mini-game in which you were just born and have to learn basic skills to be able to make it through life.
WARNING: The game might be a bit challenging at times (especially level 1). If you get stuck, feel free to open the Pause Menu (Esc) and skip the level.
Most importantly:
Esc - Open pause menu (here you can skip or restart a level)
WASD / Arrow keys - Moving (when moving is available)
Each level will have a short tutorial. So don't worry too much about it.
Level 1:
- Type words as they appear on the screen
Level 2:
- WASD - Move (Don't hit the toys)
Level 3:
- Arrow Keys - Follow the sequence of instructions on the screen
- WASD does not work, despite what the tutorial says!
Level 4:
- WASD - Move
- Space - Slash
- Shift - Dash
Known Bugs / Issues
- Level 1: Way too hard
- Level 2: the speed can't be reset after restarting the level or by going to the main menu. The game needs to be restarted
- Level 3: WASD doens't work, only the Arrow keys
- Level 3: There seems to be a possibility of the game crashing after finishing the level, not sure why yet

The hardest level is the first X)
Yeaaaah ... Talking about scaling xD
I certainly hope it's not too discouraging.
Nahh, I was just scared about the next levels when I saw how hard the fist was O O, maybe you can spawn less words in the first level or make them a bit slower and make the next levels more complicated.
One thing I was expecting is that all the things we learn during each level would be combined in a final level that would be sooo hard X)
Yeah, that was one of my biggest concerns, that none of the mechanics can really be used for anything afterwards. But well, can't have everything xD
The impossible level xD That would've been quite something. Maybe if I had more time
